WAYNE LOTTES MEMORIAL
SCHOLARSHIP
In honor of Wayne Lottes, a long time member, officer and
director of the credit union, the LaPorte Community Federal
Credit Union has established a $1,000 scholarship
award. This scholarship will be given annually to a graduating
high school senior or college student, who exemplifies the
values represented by Wayne Lottes i.e., scholastic excellence,
personal integrity, and active participation in and service
to the school community. This award
will be made to a member, or the child of a member of the LaPorte
Community Federal Credit Union, and it will be based on the
following criteria.
- Graduation from an accredited high school.
- Proof of enrollment in an accredited college or university
for post high school education or training, and enrollment
in a degreed program.
- A demonstration of financial need.
- A grade point average of at least a “B”.
- The recipient must be involved in the community i.e., peer
tutoring, volunteer, coaching, Red Cross, church work, Big
Brother/Big Sister program, hospital work, etc. and this
information must be included in the scholarship application.
The scholarship committee will look at the student’s reasons
for requesting the award, plans for further education, reasons
for choosing this particular field of study, and the provisions
the student has made to finance himself/herself for the remainder
of the school year at college.

All applications must be received by March 31, 2010.
Selection of a recipient of this scholarship will be made
for announcement in April 2010. |
